Clean pretty dining room. The General Tso's Chicken was excellent. The wait staff was a bit standoffish.

Delicious. Affordable. Their lunch bento tasted great and their tempura ice cream made us happy.

First time in and we LOVED it. We had the gyoza and tuna tatake appetizers, steak teriyaki dinner, Lotus Flower and Yummy Yummy rolls. Everything was really fresh and had great flavor. The service was fast and friendly.

One of the best sushi places in town

Great service very sweet attitude and wonderful food! Oh my goodness the food was amazing even thought I chose to get it to go. Usually if I get to go sushi from a restaurant it tends to be subpar compared to if i sat in the restaurant and ate there but this was amazing and they cooked my steak perfectly 😊👍🏼completely recommend trying this place out!

I go here all the time! Delicious food & friendly staff. Pad thai, hibachi, kung pao chicken & the cheese wontons are on point.

Great location, staff, and food!I found this place a long time ago when down for a business conference, but unfortunately couldn't remember the name or location for a few years. It left such a mark that I searched for it when I returned to Mt Pleasant every year, this year I found it again. Wow, just as good as I remembered!The sushi is fresh and arranged beautifully. Staff is friendly and accommodating. You can not go wrong with Sushi Taro when looking for that sushi fix. Also, there is a nice menu that provides large portions of traditional Japanese and Chinese fare for the non-sushi eater.

Very diverse and affordable menu. The variety of kinds of food, as well as of interesting rolls, is the special thing here! Cheap sake, good drink specials, and large cuts of sashimi, if not the most expertly cut. Very good for a Japanese restaurant operated by people who aren't Japanese! Service is fast, and the one time I went when it was a bit slow, we were given free dessert, even though I didn't find the wait to be bad at all.

Best & freshest sushi and cleanest hibachi in Mt. Pleasant. Throw in terrific staff (except for one young consistently disinterested female waitress) and reasonable prices. Winner on the island.

Chicken tasted like it was out of a frozen bag. Service was good. But hard pass on food

We are "out of townners" and blown away by the food here! The service is exceptional, the sushi is freshly made, the soup is divine and our main courses are stunning! Steak or scallops you can't go wrong with either one.

I'm often annoyed by review inquiries, but the fact and I'm making this one says enough. I visited 10 different sushi establishments in the past 14 days across the country and the only other establishment that meets this level of service and quality is a planet sushi in Miami Beach. The atmosphere was great the service was phenomenal and the food, well all I can say is wow. I would definitely recommend this establishment to any true sushi lover!

Good food, excellent service, great prices.

Usually has been very good, while the portion size has been shrinking with my last 2 visits. I'm going to have sushi elsewhere until I hear this changes. I felt like they were making them small to try and get me to order more, as if the $25 I spent on the 1st two wasn't enough? Add drinks and appetizers to that, and your at like $35+ per person. I expect a huge meal for that much, not a cheap chef.

Sushi here is good. We visited this place twice. I would stick to the sushi and dumplings. We were dissapointed with their Pad Thai as it was not spicy or authentic but that is just me. Having lived and grow up in Malaysia and Singapore, plus travel to thailand, it is easy to be dissapointed. I highly recommend sushi taro.

We ordered 4 different sushi rolls and each one was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even gave us a dessert on the house! The ambiance was so relaxing and classy. The restrooms were very clean and upscale and the music they played was relaxing and enjoyable. We DEFINITELY recommend!

Best hibachi I’ve had since I moved to SC

Excellent service, wonderful food. Very reasonably priced. I could hold a conversation at normal speaking volume. Nice ambience and atmosphere.

This place is fantastic! They have a very fancy atmosphere with good prices. Both times I have come it has been an absolute pleasure.

Their food always hit the spot. The people are nice, friendly and attentive.

This place was truly amazing! My best friend and I are on vacation and from out of town. We wanted some quick and simple sushi, and what we received was so much more. Great service, friendly atmosphere, and truly amazing food. Definitely will be coming back in the near future!!!

Our prom group had dinner here before prom and it was great! The place was a little small but still adequately accommodated our group of 13-14. The sushi was fantastic, and they even treated us to ice cream on the house at the end of our meal.

The food was absolutely amazing! Best sushi I’ve had in a long time and the NY strip hibachi was insanely good. Steak was perfect, vegetables were cooked just right (not too soft or too firm), and the rice was really tasty (great texture and flavor). We were extremely happy with all of the food. The staff seemed like they were trying to be nice, but they just didn’t show much emotion. They were very to the point and I didn’t notice any smiles really. They were attentive and brought everything we asked for, though. I guess they were just in a strictly business mindset. I will definitely visit this place again and recommend it to all my friends.

Ordered takeout before closing time recently. The place looked nice inside, with formal type table settings. They lacked certain customer service skills, like greeting you when you enter or telling you the cost before asking for payment. When the food finally came out, I was rushed out before being able to check the bags to see what sauces I may or may not need. I was pleased to find that they got our orders and customizations perfect. However, we were really disappointed that all three orders of shrimp were overcooked to the point they were tough. Maybe it was a fluke and not a usual problem here. The chicken was fine and so was everything else. I was just visiting the area, but I doubt I'll return here on future visits.

Honestly? The sushi is good. I love their sweet potato sushi and regularly order it for pick up! If I didn’t love the sushi so much I would never come back because their customer service is TERRIBLE! They ask you straight up for tips or more than what you put on the receipt. They never, ever put the sauces I ask for in my take out bag. And they almost never receive my order when I order for pick up. Several times I have come in and they haven’t received my order and I have to wait for them to make my food. The workers are just straight up rude! Like I said, the food is good and keeps me coming back. But the customer service is just so awful.

I do not recommend the sushi; it really is not that great,but the entrees there are another matter...Everything I have ever ordered has been delicious! Skip the sushi and order some rock shrimp , a little Thai basil and then enjoy some complimentary ice cream to round out your night. The service is good, if not a bit dour..they really should smile a bit more, but you get over it by chowing down on some pot stickers.

Great atmosphere and easy for take out.

Horrible service. Went to pick up a doordash order and waited a hour and a half for my order to come up while I watched people come in and sit down and get there food before me. Was ignored and looked over several times. Definitely the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant.

Always a great place to get sushi and hibachi. They have a great carry out. Their linch specials are also a awesome deal.
